Welcome to Eighth Round Pick, a sports blog.  Here we’ll be blogging about all sports: Football, Hockey, Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, Auto Racing, Golf, Curling, you name it.  We currently have three contributers, all of whom have differing team allegiances, specialties, and all of whom live in a different geographical area of the country.

What we hope to do here is share our opinions on sports stories of the day, cover a variety of topics, and debate.  We have differing opinions on many subjects so don’t worry about us staying in lock-step; we’re not afraid to tell each other when one thinks another is full of crap.  Enjoy!

ManInBlack is a fan of Johnny Cash, Stephen King’s Dark Tower series, and secret government organizations that work closely with space aliens.  He hopes one day to defeat his nemesis Jacob and escape the Island.

Sharkey has the unfortunate distinction of being born in New Jersey.  This was out of his control.  In his control is his loyalty towards teams from the NY area, as well as Philadelphia.  This makes him a sports hypocrite, something he is extremely proud of.  He’s also proud of his beard-growing capabilities.

He is a fan of the New York Giants, New Jersey Devils, Philadelphia Phillies, New Jersey Nets, Notre Dame football, Syracuse basketball, and SSC Napoli.

Doozer was born in the South and raised in the South, which means he has front row seat for the two best things America has to offer, SEC football and Southern women.  He doesn’t claim to be an expert on anything, but you’ll get his opinion on everything.  Growing up in a city with no professional sports means he gets to root for all the same teams his dad does. And let’s get it out of the way right now, if you’re from Alabama or Kentucky, he hates you.
