One man’s random ramblings on the hottest sport topics of the day, as you would hear while waiting in line for an $8 beer…
*The more I follow up on it, the more I’m beginning to convince myself that the Seattle Supersonics Oklahoma City Thunder actually have a shot against the Lakers. I know this isn’t true, and it’s really just my giant mancrush on Kevin “The Durantula” Durant, but still. How great would that be?
*Capitals, Devils, & Penguins fans can all take solace that all three of them are in the same hole. Panic would be a lot easier to come by if you were the fan of one of these teams, and the other two teams all won their first game easily. With all three in an 0-1 hole, it’s easy to just adopt a ‘wait until Game 2′ attitude.
*Roethlisberger will get suspended, the question is, for how long. 2-4 games seems to be the most popular guesses. I’ve heard some people say he deserves 8 games. I think from an NFL standpoint, a 4 game suspension is the correct time length. If I were the Steelers though, and it were up to me, I may be pushing for that longer suspension. Something needs to click for this guy, because he’s one stupid act away from ruining an entire NFL Franchise for the next decade or so.
*If you’re a baseball fan, and you have the MLB Package, tonight is the type of night where dreams come true. Take a look at the starting pitchers taking the mound on this random Friday in April: CC Sabathia, Mark Buehrle, Josh Beckett, Zach Greinke, Felix Hernandez, Roy Halladay, and Chris Carpenter.
*Tiger will play at Quail Hollow, no great surprise there. You had to figure he’d want to play in another tournament before TPC, and what better one than in his buddy Michael Jordan’s own backyard.
*NBA Playoffs: Cleveland, Orlando, Milwaukee & Boston advance in the East, Los Angeles, Dallas, Phoenix & Denver in the West. Cleveland beats Orlando in a rematch of last years East Finals, and Los Angeles beats Phoenix out West. In the end, LeBron finally gets his hands on that Championship Trophy, which convinces him to stick around in Cleveland for the foreseeable future.
